Jason Kim was born in St. Mary’s, Pennsylvania, and was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 2000. His family moved to Blue Ridge, Georgia in 1982. He received a Bachelor of Arts, Cum laude, in English, with a minor in Philosophy from ToccoaFalls College in 1996, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia in 2000. While at Toccoa Falls College, Mr. Kim was a member of the student government as Treasurer for one year, served as a resident assistant and was an editor for the student newspaper. While at the University of Georgia School of Law Mr. Kim clerked for the Clarke County Magistrate Court Judge and participated in the Lawschool Prosecutorial Clinic by working under the third year practice act at the Hall County District Attorney’s Office in 1999-2000.
Mr. Kim began practicing law in Athens, Georgia at the Law Office of Richard Jack in 2000 where he worked for three years until he began work with Bagwell & Corso in Gainesville, Georgia in 2003. Mr. Kim handled general litigation matters at the Law Office of Richard Jack, with a concentration on insurance subrogation litigation.
At Bagwell and Corso, later Bagwell and Associates, Mr. Kim’s practice consisted largely of real estate transaction work along with continued work in general civil litigation and criminal defense.
In summer of 2007, Mr. Kim opened his own legal practice in Gainesville, Georgia and concentrate mostly on Real Estate transactions and general civil litigation, including Domestic/Divorce, Personal Injury, and Bankruptcy.
Sam Bagwell focuses his practice on Real Estate Services, including litigation, zoning, and transactions. Sam has always enjoyed spending time in a courtroom in front of a judge and jury and has been named to the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 under 40, as well as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in the area of Real Estate Law.
Sam received his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law, and before that he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Georgia focusing on Real Estate. Sam’s legal experience (prior to opening his own firm) includes working as both an Assistant Solicitor in Forsyth County and as Assistant District Attorney in Hall and Dawson Counties, prosecuting misdemeanor and felony charges before local State and Superior Court judges. He also worked with a general practice firm in Gainesville, Georgia where he handled real estate closings, and litigated civil matters and contract disputes, along with limited domestic matters including divorces, wills, and trusts.
As his career has progressed, Sam’s litigation practice has narrowed to focus more on business and real estate disputes ranging from tax deed litigation and boundary-line disputes to foreclosures, evictions, and seller finance transactions. Joseph Sherman joined the firm in April 2021 as an Associate Attorney. He enjoys helping clients, in both English and Spanish, on a variety of matters, concentrating on real estate transaction work as well as real estate disputes.
A Florida native, Joseph earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Central Florida in 2013. He moved to Georgia in 2014 to attend Emory University School of Law, earning his Juris Doctorate in 2017. While in law school, he interned with the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board in Atlanta for a semester and served as an Executive Managing Editor of the Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal.
Prior to joining the firm, Joseph was a staff attorney at King & Spalding, LLP, in Atlanta, where he focused on electronic discovery matters for clients in various industries, specifically, pharmaceutical companies, health care companies, and medical device manufacturers. While at King & Spalding, he also had the privilege of working alongside other firm members to serve pro bono clients through programs such as the Georgia Asylum and Immigration Network (GAIN) and the National Veterans Legal Services Program.
